Wednesday, March 14Napster was only the beginning - It's not about file sharing. It's about pirating text. These folks are going to get nailed to the wall. One of these days, I have to get around to reading The Principia Discordia. In 1994 almost every personal website I saw mentioned The Principia Discordia and or The Church of the Subgenius. Tuesday, March 13SNAFU is the "Acronym of the Moment" PS2 HDD: Just Another Add-On? says: "In the end, the only way Sony may be able to market their add-on unit is by offering it to PlayStation 2 owners for free" but I think they're missing the fact that if everyone has to buy a HDD to play new games (see previous link), a lot of people will buy it. I won't, but I'm sure some folks will. I appears that Sony is tired of selling PS2s. "We are in the middle of you." - I rarely speak ill of the dead, but I'll make this short exception for Jim Rhodes: He does NOT deserve a statue. Why was it built while he was still alive in the first place?! Monday, March 12Friday, March 9A Disagreeably Facetious Type Glossary: For The Amusement & Edification Of People Beginning A Love Affair With Fonts - Sometimes I find myself thinking that Microsoft isn't so bad afterall. Microsoft.com/typography rocks harder than it really has any right to. Wednesday, March 7The Mac TV was a great idea. The execution wasn't so hot though. Like the author of the article, I think a solid black iMac would be great. Take one of the the DVD models and throw in a TV tuner and some inputs, so folks could plug in a VCR, video game console or a cable box and they could start selling these things to almost every on-campus student in the country. They'd probably even be able to sell a few to male Windows lovers, because it'd be more than a PC. It'd be a complete entertainment center in one small package. Tuesday, March 6Monday, March 5Finnigan's Wake lyrics I love that song... one of these days, I'll have to read the book. It's nice to see that the secret service has never wavered from its duty to protect the president's family. archives |
